NATIVE SPECIES. This oak is an excellent tree when properly
grown. Like most oaks it's a moderately slow grower but grows to be
a long-lived tree that's absolutely majestic in the landscape. The
pinkish to reddish leaves unfolding in the spring turn to a
lustrous dark green in summer and change to russet-red or bright
red in the fall.
