Permeable Pavers

Every year, people experience major problems with drainage and water.   With every thunderstorm, we watch water roll off our home or business, over streets and into storm systems. As storm water runoff travels, it collects debris, chemicals, dirt and other pollutants. Water is a valuable resource; Grant & Power Landscaping wants to share with you an alternative to sending this resource to the storm water system.  Keep the rain that falls on your property, instead of allowing it to runoff. This will reduce stress on the natural water systems; allow fewer pesticides, fertilizers and other pollutants collected from hard surfaces to reach the rivers, streams and eventually the oceans. Anything that enters a storm sewer system is discharged into our local waters; the same water we use to swim, fish and to provide drinking water. Better water management systems will reduce erosion, flooding, and pollution.

Permeable PaversHard surfaces, such as roofs, pavement, and even patios, are the main contributor to storm water runoff. Their impervious surfaces prevent storm water from naturally soaking back into the ground. Permeable pavers are great for driveways where more water moves over the surface and out into the street and then to storm water systems. Permeable pavers look virtually the same as typical brick pavers but their function is more sustainable. These pavers allow water to seep into their joints quickly. The water flows below the hard surface where it is held until slowly released back into the earth. These functional pavers are a great addition to any landscape creating a more eco-friendly environment. Use permeable pavers for streets, parking lots, driveways, patios and walks.

Enhance your environment with a sustainable water feature. Grant & Power designs beautiful and functional water features. The placement of a fountain above a permeable paver surface will allow water recirculation from the basin below. You will save time and money by recycling the rainwater for your environmentally friendly water feature. We look forward to working with you to move towards a "greener" landscape.
