The McCalla's former California home provided them with a year-round, functional and unique outdoor space. The vision for their new home was to create an interactive retreat in their backyard that was not limited by the seasons. An intimate flagstone patio nestled within the landscape provides a unique perspective of the pond from above. Interaction with the yard was a key desire of the homeowner throughout the design. Despite limited space and extreme slope of the backyard, the homeowner wanted to create a landscape that would not only be viewed but also experienced.
